For ease of use, we have created the following step-by-step list for you. Please use our contact us form if you have additional questions.
For children who will be 2, 3 or 4 years OF age on or by September 1 OF THE YEAR THEY ENROLL:
Sign up for an orientation or tour.
Please follow this link to select and sign-up for one of our available tour dates. If for some reason you experience trouble with signing-up for a tour, feel free to contact us directly. Please note: You are welcome to attend an orientation, tour or both; however, the number of events attended or number of parents from a family attending does not affect admissions decisions. We do ask that at least one parent or guardian attend.
At your scheduled orientation or tour, pick up an application
Applications can only be obtained at an orientation or tour. This allows us to ensure that everyone who applies has attended one of these events.
Send us your completed application before December 2, 2016
To qualify for September admissions, applications must be received by this deadline. As long as the December deadline is met, date of application does not impact admissions decisions.
Admission decisions are sent out in March
Our initial decisions are mailed at the beginning of March. We are typically finished with our acceptance process by mid-March. We are committed to building balanced and inclusive cohorts of children that truly support our diverse community. We ask that you be patient with us as we make these difficult decisions.
For children who will be 5 years of age ON OR BY SEPTEMBER 1 OF THE YEAR THEY ENROLL:
The Transitional Kindergarten enrollment process occurs on a different schedule. For information, read about Transitional Kindergarten admissions.
FOR INCLUSION ADMISSION:
We reserve some spots for children with identified special needs. Please note in the designated space on the application if your child has special needs and give us a brief description of their strengths and challenges. For more information, read about our inclusion admission policy.
For sibling ADMISSION:
Consistent with The Little School’s focus on families, siblings receive special consideration in admissions and form the core of a class. For more information, read about our sibling admission policy.
