Since its incorporation, The Little School has provided discounts in tuition. We are deeply committed to making our school accessible to families from a wide range of economic situations.
Discounted tuition is intended for families that feel that the cost of attending the school would pose a financial hardship. Families who qualify for discounted tuition pay a fee that reflects what they can afford and the school’s available funds. Decisions are made based on information from a Discounted Tuition Application and recent tax returns. The process is anonymous and confidential. Families can expect approximately the same percentage discount throughout their time here. Because we want families to have equal access to all of our services, our optional summer program and extended care programs for working families receive the same discount for any family who qualifies for discounted tuition (as do smaller items like school sweatshirts, class member auction items, etc). We generally provide discounted tuition to 20% of our families with discounts between 10-98%.
Check the marked box on the main application to receive a discounted tuition application. To increase the chances of receiving a discount, fill out the form and send it in with recent tax returns by February of the year that you are applying for. If the application is received by that date and your child is accepted to the school, we will inform you of your discount at that time. You may apply for a discount at any time, but there may not be funds available for those who apply after the February deadline.
