Our philosophy – that relationships are the key to learning and that each child thrives from individualized attention and care – is not just a foundation or an idea. It guides everything we do at The Little School. The authentic, joyous relationships at the heart of our program open up a world of exploration to preschoolers. Through this collaborative lens, children acquire the basic building blocks of life-long learning: joy, curiosity, connections and the confidence gained from self-knowledge and self-acceptance.
You can learn more about how we use relationships as a teaching approach in the sections on Relationships, Learning in the Classroom and Additional Support or you can see how our approach looks in each of our different classes in the Our Program section. Finally, we are pleased to showcase our Little School documentary, Relationship: The Key to Teaching and Learning in the Early Years a 90-minute training film illustrating The Little School's philosophy and approach to early childhood education. We also do occasional workshops for parents and educators. Find about upcoming workshows here.
